Pack 318 Campout Packing Guide

Prepare for your adventure with our comprehensive campout packing list! This essential guide ensures you won't forget a thing.

 

A full Cub Scout uniform is required for an overnighter. Sturdy shoes for hiking are recommended. Use this checklist as you prepare your camping gear.

Camping Equipment

  • Tent with poles, stakes, and ground cloth

  • Sleeping bag or blankets

  • Pillow

  • Air mattress, cot, or sleeping pad

Clothes Bag

  • Class A uniform

  • Class B uniform

  • Poncho or raincoat

  • Warm jacket or coat

  • Warm pajamas

  • Underwear

  • Shorts and long pants (nights and mornings get cold!)

  • Extra t-shirt

  • Belt

  • Socks (bring extra!)

  • Durable shoes (sneakers or hiking boots, not Crocs)

  • Cap and/or beanie

  • Gloves

Family Gear

  • Folding camp chairs

  • Cooler or ice chest

  • Canteen or water bottle

  • Cooking equipment (check with a Pack Leader for details)

Toilet Kit

  • Toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, and other toiletries

  • Washcloth and/or towel

  • Soap, shampoo in container

  • Toilet paper

  • Extra plastic bag or container

 

First Aid

  • First aid kit

  • Flashlight with extra bulb and batteries

  • Sunscreen

  • Insect repellent

  • Whistle

  • Safety pins

  • Mobile phone and charger or extra battery

Extras

 

  • Camera

  • Mallet for driving stakes

  • Extra batteries

  • LED lantern for inside tent

  • LED headlamp

  • Binoculars

  • Sunglasses

  • Scout handbook

  • Earplugs and sleep mask

  • Wagon to haul gear/stuff
